Description: This study aimed to highlight the role of the safe haven strategy, represented by gold, the Swiss franc, and the Japanese yen, in mitigating the effects of global price fluctuations during the period from 2015 to 2026. This was achieved by examining their structural and institutional characteristics, as well as their interaction with global shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian crisis. To achieve its objectives, the study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach supported by econometric and statistical analysis, relying on economic literature and international financial reports issued by institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Gold Council, while utilizing risk indicators such as standard deviation and the coefficient of variation. The results confirmed the efficiency of gold as a sovereign, cross-border asset, and the structural superiority of the Swiss franc over the Japanese yen, whose effectiveness declined due to the phenomenon of monetization and interest rate gaps. Consequently, the study recommends adopting a dual hedging strategy that combines gold and the Swiss franc as the optimal combination for reducing investment portfolio risks and achieving sustainability in a volatile financial environment.
