dc.description	This study explores the question of identity within the novel “The Thorn and The Carnation” by Dr. Yahya Al-Sinwar, considering it one of the pivotal issues through which the author mirrored the struggles that the alestinians have to face as he tries to draw attention to his upbringing, assert his existence, and prove his identity. All while showcasing the components shaping his identity such as; language, homeland, its history, religion, and its culture within this narrative piece of writing. The novel has been studied relying on cultural criticism to highlight all that have been included in the compositional elements of his identity. Ultimately, this study has concluded that identity in the novel “The Thorn and Carnation”, included multidimensional aspects. On one hand, it shows the sense of belonging of Palestinian people to their identity, while also struggling both politically and socially. It also encapsulates their resilience and struggle trying to preserve and prove their identity despite the existence and the ongoing struggles of the Zion oppression on Palestinian lands	en_US
dc.description.abstract	تبحث هذه الد را سة عن قضية الهوية في رواية "الشوك والقرنفل" ليحيى السنوار، باعتبارها من القضايا المحورية التي تعكس قيمة المعاناة التي يعيشها الإنسان الفلسطيني، وهو يحاول إبرا ز انتمائه الفلسطيني، وتحديد كيانه ، وإثبات هويته، حيث تمت د را سة تمظهرا ت الهوية من خلال استخرا ج العناصر المشكلة لها مثل : اللغة، والوطن ، والتاريخ ، والدين، والثقافة داخل النص الروائي، واعتمدت هذه الد را سة على مقولات النقد الثقافي للكشف عن كل ما هو مضمر في تلك العناصر المشكلة للهوية، وتوصلنا إلى أن الهوية في رواية" الشوك والقرنفل" تضمنت أبعادا متعددة توضح ارتباط الإنسان الفلسطيني بهويته الأصلية من جهة، وتعكس صرا عه السياسي والاجتماعي من جهة أخرى، وما ي واجهه من تحديات، ومعاناة لإثبات هذه الهوية والحفاظ عليها في ظل تواجد الاستعمار الصهيوني في الأ را ضي الفلسطيني	en_US
