| Description: | Postbiotics, defined as preparations of inanimate microorganisms and/or their components that confer a health benefit, represent an innovative approach in human and animal nutrition. In response to the limitations of antibiotics and synthetic antioxidants, they offer a stable, safe, and easily integrable alternative for industrial formulations. This study evaluated the in vitro biological properties of three postbiotic preparations: two derived from commercial strains (Ultrabioticand Suprabiotic) and one from a mixture of five local lactic acid strains. The postbiotic fractions were prepared by centrifugation, filtration, and thermal inactivation (90°C, 40 min), and their sterility was subsequently validated. The antioxidant activity, measured by the DPPH radical scavenging assay, revealed inhibition percentages of up to 51.59% for the soluble fractions, compared to 0–20% for the cellular fractions. The antimicrobial activity, assessed by the well diffusion method, showed selective inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus, with inhibition zones reaching 20 mm, sometimes exceeding those of the reference antibiotics. The anti-inflammatory activity, evaluated by the albumin denaturation inhibition assay, showed inhibition rates of 71.21% and 73.86% for the supernatants of PB1 and PB2, surpassing aspirin. These findings confirm the multifunctional potential of postbiotics, particularly the soluble fractions, whose efficacy depends on the strain of origin. |
