| dc.description.abstract | Herbal dietary supplements are gaining increasing interest in the prevention and management of stress due to their richness in bioactive compounds and their natural origin. In this study, an inventory of anti-stress dietary supplements marketed in pharmacies was compiled to investigate their pharmaceutical and biochemical characteristics. The inventory revealed a predominance of capsule dosage forms among the products identified. These supplements are primarily composed of medicinal plant extracts. The study also highlighted significant botanical diversity and price variability on the market. Biochemical analysis of the selected dietary supplement allowed for the evaluation of its secondary metabolite composition and antioxidant potential. The results showed the presence of phenolic compounds, including polyphenols, flavonoids, and terpenoids, known for their antioxidant properties and their role in protecting the body against oxidative stress. A comparative phytochemical study of three commercial products reveals that Ashwagandha Evexia Zero Stress is the best in terms of polyphenol content and antioxidant activity. In conclusion, herbal anti-stress dietary supplements represent an interesting natural alternative to support the body in the face of the effects of stress. However, their effectiveness depends on the quality of the raw materials used, their biochemical composition, and their standardization. Further studies are needed to better assess their long-term efficacy and safety | en_US |
