Abstract: This study addresses the issue of the specificity of juvenile prosecution procedures in Algerian legislation, by highlighting the extent to which the Algerian legislator has established the specificity of juvenile prosecution procedures in a way that achieves the protection of the juvenile and ensures a fair trial. The study aims to highlight the various legal and procedural guarantees stipulated for juveniles during the follow-up, investigation and trial phases, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the legal texts enacted by the Algerian legislator in establishing the protection of juveniles' rights, especially Law 15/12, in addition to clarifying the role of the competent authorities in juveniles. The study relied on the descriptive approach by clarifying the concept of the event and the most important factors leading to it, and also relied on the analytical approach by analyzing the legal texts regulating juvenile justice in Algerian legislation, especially the provisions of Law 15/12 related to child protection. This memorandum was structurally divided into two chapters. The first chapter dealt with the conceptual framework of the event, in terms of referring to the concept of the event, the factors causing it, and the authorities responsible for it While the second chapter dealt with the specificity of the procedures for prosecuting the juvenile during the investigation and trial stages. In the end, the study concluded with results including that the legislator, in accordance with the provisions of Law 15/12 related to child protection, approved a special system for juveniles whose goal is therapeutic and preventive rather than punitive, and that the juvenile judge combines the powers of investigation and trial, contrary to the general rule, in addition to the existence of special judicial bodies for juveniles that differ from those for adults.
