dc.description.abstract	The Algerian Code of Criminal Procedure has undergone numerous amendments, culminating in the issuance of the new Law No. 25-14, which granted broad powers to the Public Prosecution through its members, represented by the Public Prosecutor and the Attorney General. As for the judicial authorities, they are represented by the Investigating Judge. Since the Public Prosecution is considered a branch of the judiciary and one of the pillars of justice, it is entrusted with the following functions:  Conducting preliminary investigations.  Supervising the judicial police.  Executing criminal judgments issued in criminal cases	en_US
