Abstract

This study aims to define the crime of human trafficking, which has become one of the most prominent challenges facing states in the modern era due to the serious threat it poses to both individuals and society. Criminal groups have come to view human beings merely as commodities from which they can generate enormous financial profits. The forms of this crime have evolved to include trafficking for the purposes of forced labor, sexual exploitation, and organ trafficking, among others.This has prompted the Algerian legislator to take necessary measures to confront and combat this crime by defining its constituent elements and punishing its perpetrators, in addition to adopting procedural provisions aimed at preventing this crime and protecting its victims, in order to ensure effectiveness in eliminating it.
