This study examines military robots and criminal responsibility in light of the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies and autonomous weapons. It analyzes the conceptual, technical, and legal framework governing their use in armed conflicts and highlights the absence of clear international legal rules for determining criminal liability when such systems commit violations of international humanitarian law. This legal uncertainty has contributed to the emergence of the accountability gap. Using descriptive, analytical, and comparative methodologies, the study explores the characteristics of military robots, evaluates their compliance with the principles of distinction, proportionality, necessity, and humanity, and identifies potential actors who may bear criminal responsibility, including military commanders, programmers, manufacturers, operators, and hackers. The findings reveal that existing international humanitarian law remains insufficient to address the challenges created by increasingly autonomous systems. Accordingly, the study recommends adopting a binding international convention that establishes effective accountability mechanisms and guarantees meaningful human oversight.en_US
