This memorandum addresses the issue of fair criminal trials under Algerian Code of Criminal Procedure No. 25-14, through an examination of the various guarantees established by the legislator during the investigation and trial phases. The study aims to clarify the concept of a fair criminal trial, its characteristics, and its national and international legal foundations, while analyzing the most important newly introduced mechanisms designed to strengthen the rights of the accused, ensure respect for the presumption of innocence and the rights of the defense, and resolve cases within reasonable timeframes. The memorandum also addresses the role of judicial organization, the reasoning behind judgments, the two-tiered judicial system, and video trials in pholding criminal justice. The study concludes that the new reforms reflect a legislative trend toward rengthening fair trial guarantees; however, their effectiveness remains contingent upon proper judicial implementation and the provision of practical safeguards to protect rights and freedoms.en_US
