Traditional and modern forensic evidence form the basis for the Algerian judge’s conviction, in accordance with the principle of freedom of evidence and personal conviction. The system of evidence in criminal law relies on traditional methods, alongside modern scientific evidence. Scientific progress has contributed to increasing the accuracy of evidence and enhancing the ability to uncover criminal truth, while traditional evidence remains of considerable value within the procedural system, highlighting the need for integration between them. This requires that Algerian legislation keep pace with scientific and technological developments and that judicial training be improved, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of criminal justice and ensuring respect for fair trial guarantees and the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms.en_US
