| Abstract: | Startups have become one of the most significant features of the modern knowledge-based economy, as they rely on Innovation and the development of creative projects aimed at achieving rapid growth within a highly competitive and risk-oriented environment. In this context, the Algerian legislator has sought to establish a legal and regulatory framework capable of supporting and accompanying startups, particularly in light of their growing role in stimulating the national economy, creating employment opportunities, and promoting entrepreneurial culture This study has shown that startups possess distinctive characteristics that set them apart from traditional small and medium-sized enterprises. Their core foundations lie In innovation, chnological advancement, and scalability, which enable them to adapt quickly to economic and technological changes. Despite these specificities, Algerian legislation does not grant startups an independent legal status; rather, they remain subject to the general legal forms governing companies and business entities, while benefiting from a special regime associated with obtaining the “Startup Label n The study further demonstrated that the success of startups depends not only on an adequate legal framework, but also on the existence of an integrated institutional and financial ecosystem. To this end, the Algerian state has established specialized bodies, Business incubators, and support funds designed to assist Innovative project holders through guidance, supervision, and financial support. In addition, various financing mechanisms have been developd to meet the particular needs of startups, including investment financing and contractual financing solutions adapted to the high-risk nature of these enterprises In conclusion, startups have become an essential driver of economic development and a key pillar of the knowledge economy. This reality highlights the importance of continuously improving the legal and financial framework In order to create a more favorable environment for innovation, investment, and the sustainable growth of startup projects in Algeria |
